So as long as week 8 was, that is how short week 9 has been. It has flown by. It has also been kinda hard to get back into study mode. Part of that is because today is sandblast, which is a big party on the beach that celebrates the end of midterms. All terms are now done with midterms. So we are going but we are not going to the after party, because that would take tomorrow away as well. Sandblast ends at 6 pm, but the after-party will last much much later. Will plan on Sunday being a big study day, and not a getting over Saturday night, kind of day. So I told you a bit about the waterfall last weekend. So, I will tell you the whole story. My friend and neighbor, M, had a friend, B, come and visit him from the states. So we decided to got to Mt Carmel waterfall. We took a series of Raggea buses, which are actually vans, but they go many places and it is quite an inexpensive way to travel. You also have may take several to get to where you are going. So on the second bus, the area was very hilly, and twisty, and just a mess of a road. This particular bus was completely full, and the drivers are very fast on these VERY mountainous curvy roads. So, yours truely could not take it anymore. We had to get off the bus; I was very sick. Side note to W, I was not playing any video games to make me car sick, and did just barely get off the bus in time! NICE! I make a great first impression, if you want me to meet any of your friends that flew a long way to see you! So the bus leaves us, and we are in the middle of nowhere.
Fortunately in about 10 min, a flat bed pickup truck comes by, and we hitchhike. The guy driving was really nice and was going to Grenville, which is the place that we were going to catch our next bus. Much more air, my face is not blue anymore! And M and B did not make fun of me THAT much!
This is the market in Grenville.
So we also had lunch in Grenville at the melting pot. That is us in line there. So we ate.
Next we get on another bus that will take us the rest of the way to the waterfall. We, as a group, decided that I should sit up front. This ride was much better, not as curvy, and we finally get off the bus.
I do not think that the US gave Grenada this waterfall, but who knows. So there is not arrow or anything, just this sign. Some gentlemen out on the street told us to follow a path behind these peoples houses, and we would get there. So we do. Literally walking through peoples back yards, and continuing down a trail. We did find the waterfall, which is the tallest waterfall in Grenada. It was beautiful.
After enjoying the waterfall, we went to this area a bit down stream, to where these rocks make natural watersides. It was a little scary at first, but what FUN!!
Climbing up to the slide was the most difficult part. We had a great time! We have Sandblast today, so we are about to leave.
Hope everyone has a great week.
Looks like such fun, what an experience, & you are the who would take it Love you & proud of you
ReplyDeleteGood.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the trip there was quite an adventure in itself. The waterfall looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteWe had a great time, and getting there was an adventure. I heard it is much more fun when the water level is higher. We will have to go back during the rainy season to see.
ReplyDeleteSuch fun, sliding down the waterfall.
